Mayday Mayday - I'm 5 for 5!

 

May was an absolute BLAST! These cool clients of mine have me happy dancing all the time.💃 

🎓May was filled with excited graduates, with stars in their eyes.  May we all have that kind of enthusiasm for life! 

👪I was lucky enough to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon photographing some of the wonderful employees, and their families, at Still Hopes.  

💑Friendship is priceless! I asked sweet friends from my BNI chapter to model for me, for a feature presentation demo, and they said, YES...well it just doesn't get any better than that!!  Still indebted to these two!

🏠Not one, but two fantastic Real Estate duos trusted me to capture their personalities with some updated headshots and some fun content for social media. 

👶And finally, I'm so thankful to have clients that allow me to follow their journey to parenthood through pregnancy announcements, maternity, and finally with a newborn session.  

Yep, it's a charmed life and I don't take it lightly.💓

My last session with my sweet Class of 2023 Senior Model, Cameron.  She's headed to William and Mary this fall and I'm so excited for her!

Here's looking at you...March!

Spring is my absolute favorite season!  I love the colors of spring - seeing them and wearing them.  (You could count the number of black garments I own, on one hand!)  I'm always excited about warmer weather and to watch the world come alive again.  With each new season, I feel a new energy and I'm excited about what I can create this time around.  March was full of it's own new beginnings - a sweet new baby boy for the Parker family, Reece's gorgeous baby bump, and the new family that was created with the marriage of Laura and Aubrey.

As there is a beginning for everyone, there is also an end - even if it's not here yet.  Every time someone asks me to shoot a Journey's End session for them, it's because they know change is coming, and to be able to capture something that they can hold onto forever, is an honor.  These two sweet 15 year old pups that I had the privilege of photographing in March are - oh so loved.💓🐶  

Because of our mild temperatures here in SC, photographers really get to work outside nearly year-round, and after a drab winter it's so fun to take advantage of our beautiful State House grounds for a headshot session.  If you need an insurance check-up for your home and auto - Nick Raso, with Relation Insurance, if your guy!

Last but not least, I spent a fun evening at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Gala.  The work this organization does, continues to amaze me.  It was an honor to be able to give my time during this fabulous night, hosted by Beth Lowrie and her incredible team! 

 

And then in February, I ate chocolate!

 

I know some people shun Valentine's Day as a silly "holiday".  Whatever...it's a license to eat chocolate!  I mean, what's not to like about that?! Especially since my Christmas cookie hangover was just wearing off.  But I digress...😊.  

What else did I do in February?  Headshots, Couples in Love💗, Adorable Babies, and a sweet Journey's End session were on the agenda for the month of love and chocolate, and I am here for all of it!  Maybe most significant, to my Mama heart, I got to share my daughter Erin's engagement portraits, heart eyes all the way.😍

I was - oh so excited😍 - to shoot these Engagement portraits for Erin and David.  I am thrilled that David is officially going to be a member of our family!!  The plan was for a sunrise shoot on the beach, but the fog wrapped this gauzy swirl around them, and it was just magical.

I kicked off the month with headshots for my best friend of 51 years (okay, and we had a fabulous shopping trip as well!).  Rhonda is a long time Creative Memories consultant and the 'bestest' BFF in the world!

This sweet family was the 'Ronald McDonald House Gala' featured family this year and they stole my heart!  Look at that adorable smile!!

I've had such a great time with Cameron, 2023 JSP Senior Model Team, this year!!  One session to go and then I have to let her go be a college girl!

 

I thought I was going to spend my January reading...

 January is typically a bit dreary (after the excitement of the holidays!) and it's the month I spend a good amount of time planning for the coming year for my biz, learning (so many great educators out there!!)...and reading!😀  However, this January was absolutely gorgeous in South Carolina, and fun headshot sessions happily moved into my most coveted work assignments and I eagerly put aside my planning tools and annual education, for several days to spend a few gorgeous hours outside with some very smart women!  If you need insurance for your home, car, or auto, you need Arianna!  If your health insurance needs a check up, call Laura or Susan!

Midway through the month, I couldn't wait for some sweet snuggles with Baby Wells and to congratulate his Mom and Dad, in person, on the adorable addition to their family. 

We did have some rain later in the month (ok, quite a lot of rain!!) and several corporate headshot sessions and engagement sessions got rescheduled for February, and 'oh my goodness' are they going to be something to look forward to for February's blog post!!

I ended the month with the wonderful folks at Watson Arbor Service.  As an added bonus, I had a lovely time petting the office cat between headshots, so win-win!!  If you need tree work in the Lexington/Columbia area, they should be your first call!

Babies are an absolute marvel, and it's crystal clear at first glance that  Baby Grace's parents are absolutely head over heels for their tiny miracle.  As a parent, it takes only one split second to remember the way you felt when you brought that first precious, perfect, tiny human home with you, and you were just so incredibly humbled that God trusted you with this little person's care. And just like that, the amazing journey begins.   💕

Boundless energy...if this is a term you can relate to (and you know that it applies with abundance to children and puppies!) then you can only guess how much of it these three cuties had.  Their wiggles and giggles kept me laughing and on my toes!!  I have a soft spot for redheads -my Mama, sister and niece are redheads💖, and for daughters - I have two of my own, and for oldest siblings - that's me too!

The Brubaker family will soon be moving into a new home, in a new city, in a new state...but they will forever have a place in South Carolina.  I'm charmed by this sweet family and I know you will be too!
