Katie & Tyler | 1st Anniversary | Atlanta, Georga

Isn't it interesting, how people you've never even met can become so important to you?  Katie is one of my daughter Erin's dearest friends from UNC School of Social Work grad school daysπŸ’™ and because they graduated in a COVID year (2020) we never had that big graduation get-together.  So, when I found out we would be traveling to Atlanta, where Katie and Tyler live, right before their first wedding anniversary...I knew this was the time to finally meet Katie and Tyler.  Katie is also a photographer, so it was extra important to me to give them something special.  I love, love, love how this session turned out, and I can see why these two are so special to my girl.πŸ’“

Warren & Logan | Proposal at the River | Columbia SC Photographer

On a picture perfect spring day in May, a man in love with a beautiful woman, asked her to be his wife.  I can tell you that everyone who saw this fairytale proposal play out on the banks of the Congaree River, on Sunday, May 31, was cheering him on and had tears in their eyes when she said YES!!😍 Warren, you should know that Prince Charming couldn't have done it better himself and the fact that you added an adorable pup to the story...well, that was just icing on the cake.
A couple of weeks ago, Warren found me on IG (thank you hashtags for paying off!!) and messaged me to see if I had space in my schedule to capture his proposal on Memorial Day weekend.  I was absolutely charmed from the word "proposal" as he laid out his plan, and stealthily sent me pictures of the two of them and his adorable pup, Reilly.  On the "Big Day", when Danny (hubsπŸ’˜) and I got down to the river, I showed him their pictures and then staked him out at a picnic table so he could watch for them. Meanwhile, heart pounding as the 6:00pm hour drew near, I went down the board walk, under the bridge, to my designated spot. I sent up more than one prayer that no one would step in front of me and that I'd be in the exact right place to see her face and that they would get to be in the spot he had chosen, all by themselves.  As you will see, it all went as planned.
We spent the next half hour or so making the most of those "just engaged" smiles with a mini engagement session.  I found Logan so easy to talk to, and just lovely, and I can see why Warren is completely smitten with her.  Warren and Logan are on the way to their happily ever after and I'll be charmed forever for having seen their proposal through my lens.πŸ’“

Flowers | 50th Wedding Anniversary

They promised to "Have and to Hold", and 50 years later, Harvey and Bobbie Flowers are holding steady.πŸ’•  This sweet couple was honored by their family last week with a surprise celebration for their 50th Wedding Anniversary which included a vow renewal ceremony, dinner, cake, and toasts.  It was a gathering brimming with celebration, love, laughter, and family. πŸŽ•πŸŽ•

Halie and Patrick | Driftwood Beach | Jekyll Island

I've been looking forward to this one for months!  Halie and I spent weeks coordinating every detail for this session as far as location, timing, sunset, and their outfit changes. I readily admit that I had REALLY high expectations.  We left Columbia right on time, on this picture perfect sunny day, but every slow down during the 3.5 hour drive from Columbia (I77 ugh) to Jekyll Island had me second guessing our leave time, as I kept anticipating sunset and that magical window of time slamming shut. My entire vision for this session was based on images I had seen online and I prayed that it really looked like I thought it was going to. The second we reached the clearing from the walking path down to the beach, I knew that this gorgeous setting at Driftwood Beach was going be the perfect backdrop for every hope I had for this dream shoot.  Huge shout out to my daughter and son-in-law for braving the changing tent on a windy beach, for enduring "just one more shot" endlessly, and for being good sports for my creative vision.  I love you both dearlyπŸ’“ Can't wait to see which image they choose for the canvas!

Fran & Spencer | Engaged | Janice Sanford Photography

I knew this engagement session was going to be a special one, because Fran is a sweetheart and she is totally smitten with her guy.πŸ₯° Seriously, just look at these two!πŸ’“ Fran and Spencer brought some serious magic to their engagement session, not to mention they came prepped with not one but two fabulous outfits!😍 It only takes spending a few minutes with them to see that they just fit so well together as a couple. This has already been an exciting year for them with both a surprise romantic proposal (way to go Spencer!) and the purchase of their first home.  Fran owns my favorite coffee shop in Columbia - Blum Coffee - on Divine. If you happen to be in Columbia don't miss it...it's the best!!!  OK! Now, you're off to enjoy this beautiful session and then to get some yummy coffee.πŸ˜ƒ
