Sunshine & sixty six degrees, under a canopy of Carolina Blue skies...that's the perfect recipe for graduation weekend weather. Cue the Covid scene change!! Commencement may have been canceled, but in true "lemonade out of lemons" fashion, this family got something even better. We got unforgettable, unhurried time with our girl - many trips to get ice cream - our last yummy meals from Carolina Brewery on Franklin - time to love on the grand kitties - a little family time with all four of us together, and some memories that I wouldn't trade anything in the world for.
The road to Erin's MSW (Master's of Social Work) looked a little different than anticipated when she got derailed by a spinal surgery at the beginning of her second semester. But that turned out o.k. too, because if she had graduated a year earlier, she would never have met Katie, Angela, and Alecia; who became her grad school tribe. They were each other's support group, cheerleaders, and travel companions. In addition to the tribe, you'll see that Monkey hung in there too and received his graduate degree...MMA (Master's in Monkeying Around😂)
This week starts another new chapter for Erin, a new apartment in another state, a new job, and all kinds of chances to keep spreading her wings. The possibilities, as they say, are endless. Go get 'em girl, I'll be watching!
